First Police University in Nigeria
The Police University in Kaduna will commence academic activities in September this year, the acting Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr Mohammed Abubakar, has said. Abubakar, who disclosed this in Abeokuta on Friday, while addressing officers and men of Ogun Police Command, said the university had been approved by the Federal Executive Council. The IGP was in Abeokuta to inaugurate 13 Armoured Personnel Carriers (APC) and 156 Patrol Vehicles donated to the police by the State Government. He said: ``the President is very committed for the take-off of the university; the senate building is ready and the university already has a deputy Vice-Chancellor coordinating its affairs. ’’ He said that officers and men of the police force would benefit from his administration transformation agenda.
